IEEE Student Branch Event at King’s

The IEEE Student Branch at King’s College was founded in 2001 and reshaped in 2012 as a more active branch. To celebrate the new academic year and welcome new students as well as get reacquainted with senior students, we are planning a social event on Tuesday 11th of November 6pm.

Date: Tuesday 11th November, 18:00

Venue: Room K0.20, Strand Campus, King’s College London, WC2R 2LS

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. A Student Branch is a student society at a university that gives students the opportunity to meet and learn from fellow students, as well as faculty members and professionals in the field. IEEE Student Branches are established at over 900 universities and colleges throughout the world. Student Branch activities offer numerous educational, technical, and professional advantages of IEEE membership through special projects, activities, meetings, tours and field trips.

We will host three 20 minute talks followed by a casual networking session with drinks and snacks. The three speakers are Professor Charles Turner, regional IEEE secretary, Professor Kaspar Althoefer, head of the robotics research group and Professor Mischa Dohler, head of the telecommunications research group in the department. We will also open applications to join the IEEE King’s Student Branch (SB) Committee.

We hope to see you on the 11th for the chance to talk further about our activities and benefit from your ideas and support!
