Co-Director of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Safe and Trusted AI, 2019-2023
- The Centre for Doctoral Training in Safe and Trusted AI is a £6.9M 8-yearfunded project to train around 60 PhD students in the development of safe and trustworthy artificial intelligent systems.
- Responsible for cohort engagement and training activities such as the Hackathon and group projects with Industrial partners.
- Chairing the staff-student liaision meetings.
- Reviewing and shortlisting of PhD applications.
- PhD supervision of six PhD students.
Chair of the Mitigating Circumstances Board of the Department of Informatics, 2018-2020
- Directly responsible for the management of the mitigating circumstances process, including liaison with module leaders for assessment replacement arrangemenst, student of concern escalations, reports and communications.
- Responsible for setting up a rapid response procedure in conjunction with the Assessment Board Chairs, module leaders, and professional services for swift deliberation/implementation of contingencies in exams during the COVID pandemic.
- Work towards improvements in the staff guidance on decision making, evidence requirements and the provision of support for students in crisis.
- Academic lead in the procurement, customisation, testing and deployment of the Mitigating Circumstances software component at College level.
Chair of King's High-Performance Computing (HPC) & eResearch Group, 2018–2020
Composed of 25 leading King’s academic users of HPC, this pioneering group was formed to discuss, identify and prioritise improvements to the HPC/eResearch infrastructure at King's, liaising with the Head of Research Solutions and the Director of eResearch.
Academic Lead for the Department of Informatics’ Laboratory Migration to Bush House, 2018
- Planning of the physical layout and system configuration of the Informatics laboratories in Bush House.
- Academic lead in the integration of the Informatics computing infra-structure within King’s wider network and Follow-me-printing systems.
Chair of the Faculty of Natural and Mathematics Sciences Computing Committee, 2013–2017
- Led the creation of the role and procedures at Faculty level in 2013
- Leading the academic oversight of specialised computing provision for four departments within the then Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences.
- Reporting to the Dean of Faculty, chairing regular meetings, and being responsible for data storage/backup policies, advising on computing investment and provision, and the solution of computing issues in NMS.
- Faculty academic representative as one of the three main King’s partners in the commissioning, integration, and government of the Rosalind HPC cluster.
King’s Research Data Management Steering Group Member, 2013–2015
Promoted Research Data Management awareness in the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences.

Leading academic in the establishment of procedures for decision making in computing provision, investment, and resolution of technical issues in the Department of Informatics, setting the blueprint for the creation of the Computing Committee for the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences in 2013.
