On 31 January, Irene Marzuoli, who was co-supervised by Prof. Franca Fraternali in the Randall Centre for Cell & Molecular Biology, was examined by Prof. Syma Khalid (University of Southampton) and Prof. Fernando Bresme (Imperial College London) during her PhD viva. Irene’s viva was during the afternoon, and in the end the examiners were left impressed by Irene’s significant contributions to the field of computational biophysics. As a result, they have requested minor corrections, which Irene will complete in the next month or two. Currently, Irene is working as a postdoc in Prof. Fraternali’s group, where she is building upon her expertise in bioinformatics approaches for investigating protein-protein interaction networks, and also continuing to apply her skills in molecular dynamics simulations to investigate related systems.
