We have had two new students join the group over the course of the past several months. Alice Pettitt joined the group on 1st March, in order to due her 2nd rotation project within the group on a project co-supervised by James Mason as part of the LiDO DTP programme. Before joining the LiDO DTP, Alice earned a first class degree in her MSci in Biochemistry at UCL. Alice will be working on multi-scale modelling of antimicrobial peptides during her time in the group.
Melissa Mitchell joined the group in the middle of March in order to begin her PhD project which is co-supervised by Martin Ulmschneider. Melissa is a member of the first cohort of the newly founded BiPAS CDT at King’s College London. Before beginning her PhD at King’s, Melissa earned a first class BSc degree in mechanical engineering at De Montfort University, and then earned a distinction in her MSc in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at UCL. Melissa’s PhD project will see her developing a multi-scale simulation platform to describe the transport of drug-delivery vehicles into organs, and validate the resulting simulations with experimental results.
We are very excited to have both of these great scientists in our group, and look forward to working and learning with them during their time in the group!
