TP A playful Introduction to some Modern Geometry

With a view towards constructing Calabi-Yau manifolds, we present some rudiments of the intersection between algebraic, differential and arithmetic geometry. Throughout we will take the opposite of the Bourbaki approach and work through explicit examples, rather than to emphasise on the theory.

We are happy to announce a new series of LonTI lectures which for the first time will be delivered live on Mondays at 10:30 at the Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle St.

This term we will have two lecture series. The first by Damián Galante On Feb. 21 - Mar. 14 and the second by Yang-Hui He on March 21 and 28. As usual, their talks will be pedagogical and aimed at starting PhD students, but anybody else interested is also welcome.
