University of Surrey was the Times and Sunday Times University of the Year 2015. The Surrey Centre for Cyber Security is one of 13 GCHQ recognised Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research, with a strong technical core and extensive experience of interdisciplinary research collaborations. The University has a strong track record in technology transfer and commercialisation, and substantial expertise across several departments in Distributed Ledger Technologies that has led to the establishment of the Surrey Blockchain Research Group.

The Department of Informatics provides a strong environment for the technical side of the project, with experts in distributed ledger technology, distributed computing and announcement based logics. The Department of Political Economy brings expertise in game theory, rational choice theory and behavioural economics and a strong interdisciplinary culture. Together we have formed the King's of the Block Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Research Group

Election Reform Services
ERS is the UK's leading independent supplier of ballot and election services. ERS' expertise is recognised worldwide and its status as an independent scrutineer of voting is authorised by the UK Parliament. ERS' election and voter registration services are also used by most of the UK’s local authorities. Each year the ERS help thousands of organisations hold their own ballot, election, vote, survey or referendum. Some have fewer than a hundred voters while others have more than a million.
Crowdcube
Crowdcube is a leading equity crowdfunding platform for entrepreneurs of start-ups and growing businesses to connect with potential investors. Dedicated to helping UK-based entrepreneurs raise finance to start or grow their business, Crowdcube gives investors real equity in the companies they fund. Crowdcube uses the web-based notion of ‘crowdfunding’ where a community of like minded people pool their money and knowledge together to back an idea, business or person.
