Booked (x3) [JK10/11] Your self-proposed project

This year, I can take on up to two self-proposed projects. Such self proposed projects are ideally in the area of Reasoning and Planning, though I am happy to take on general software development projects as well. If you wish to propose your own project and consider me as your supervisor, please review my advice for project students first. While this is not departmental policy, it provides some a personal view that has developed through years of experience of supervising and examining projects.

The next step would be to email me a half page project proposal. Please take care to define a clear objective (not a set of requirements or specifications) and the importance of your project and relevance to Computer Science. Please identify one or two references that will provide the starting point of your literature review. You should also consider how you will evaluate your work.

I would like to receive proposals before project bookings open. I will try to provide some brief feedback on your proposal as soon as I can. If I am prepared to supervise it, you can then book the project as soon as project bookings begin.
