Travelling to London

Visas

Please check the official British Government website for visa services to see whether you need a visa and how to obtain one if necessary.

Airports

London has 5 public airports: Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, Gatwick, and London City.

Getting to King's College from Heathrow and London City airport

Heathrow and London City airport are accessible via the London underground. The most convenient way from Heathrow is to use the Piccadilly Line to get to Covent Garden station. This trip takes about 60-70 minutes. See Google Maps directions on how to get to King's College from Covent Garden station. If you are arriving at City airport, use Transport for London to go either to Covent Garden or Temple station.

Getting to King's College from Stansted, Luton and Gatwick

Stansted, Luton and Gatwick airport can be reached either by train (see National Rail) from various London train stations or by coach (see National Express). Use the London underground (see Transport for London) to get to Covent Garden or Temple station.

Most contactless payment cards can be used on London buses and the underground. You can also purchase an Oyster Card from any tube station or ticket oyster stop around London, which can be topped up with travel credit. More details can be found on the Transport for London website.
