Firstly, the point group of your system is generated as explained in Section 2.6.11.4. When the point group is built, you will be asked about the number of ``divisions''. The larger this number is, the larger is the number of tetrahedra generated and thus the larger is the number of nonequivalent -points. All this vital information is shown on the screen as you play with the generator trying different number of divisions. It is worth mentioning that sometimes with the larger number of divisions (and the larger number of tetrahedra) you can get the same or only slightly larger number of -points. Of course, the larger number of tetrahedra, the better.
Once the -points are generated, a file brill.dat is written which contains an important information for the DOS calculation to be done by the lev00 routine, see Section 3.6.2.
