MicroRNA Target Site Prediction

The problem of discovering the targeting genes that microRNAs regulate is of a great importance to developing our understanding of many biological processes. Experimentally finding microRNA target genes is a laborious process with time consuming and expensive experiments and therefore computational approaches for microRNA target prediction are important to narrow down potential candidates for experimental validation. My major research interests are focused on the development and utilisation of computational methods for microRNA target prediction, using novel features extracted from data with experimental support.
